The Pupukea hike is a beautiful place to see the view from Kaena Point.The road is now paved and make it easier,safer,and more enjoyable walking up the hill.Takes about one hour to go up and down the road.From the Zen Villa you drive towards north-east on kamehameha highway,drive pass Waymea Bay and a little after Waymea church you will turn right by Foodland going up the mountain at Pupukea road.Drive all the way until the dead end at the Boys scout camp.Park along the road side and walk thru the gate.It is ok to pass the sign on the gate where it says Military property.You will find local people walking,biking or running.Hike all the way to the end where you will find another gate,then come back down the road.You will love the view,the pure mountain air,and the good feeling that exercise brings to your body and mind!!Enjoy!

The Peacock Flat is a hard core hike.You will see a wonderful view from the North Shore as well as Waialua and its old sugar mill.The hike to Peacock Flats proves to be a challenging one.The hike ascends 1800 feet over a distance of 3.5 miles.Total distance is 7 miles, 3.5 miles each way. From the Zen Villa you drive north west towards Mokuleia pass the first round about and follow the sign that says Mokuleia,turn left on the end of the road,drive pass the the Kahala Healing arts,keep going,go strait on the round about, pass Waialua High School on the left,pass the Weinberg center on the left,keep driving pass a empty field,right after and before the Pollo school or horse stable, you will find a road on the left with a gate.Park along the road and start walking up the hill.Please take water,a cell phone and a camera.It is truly a great exercise.Be prepare!
